Dejan Paravan: Golob and GEN-I's Privatization Plans

Dejan Paravan is a long time close friend and confidant of Robert Golob. Paravan held various board and C-Suite positions in GEN-I for 18 years, including as CEO of Gen-I. Paravan later moved to GEN Energija, where at late 2025 he resigned from position of CEO. Since then, he has served as co-CEO of NGEN, an energy company.
According to Dejan, and for various reasons, GEN-I is a highly
politicized entity, where objectives are not clear and straightforward. In addition, according to him, Golob wants to privatize GEN-I.

Tomislav Vukmanovic: Golob’s “Flip” on GEN-I's Policies

Tomislav Vukmanovic is a senior manager in the energy business. Until early 2025, he worked at GEN-I’s Croatian subsidiary in various positions for 11 years. During his last position he was the Deputy Director of GEN-I Croatia and the Slovenian board’s contact. He attributes Robert Golob’s rise to political power as a key reason for increased politization in GEN-I, leading to the placement of incompetent managers. One of the examples he brings up is a case where as CEO, Golob fought against the governments demands to raise prices on GEN-I so the government could lower the tariffs for customers, while as PM, Golob flipped and passed the same demands on GEN-I and others.
